I have instaled my fax modem awhen i try to send t a message all i get is "no dial tone" although the phone o

Hi Moon..

Simply its becuase you either have a message waiting which gives you interupted dialtone and the fax cant see this this as dial tone, or the fax is not correctly installed.

Some fax's have a off hook or handset attached, see if you get dialtone on this, if you do, and its not intermittant then its the fax has a bug, may need to be fixed.

If you do get interupted dial tone, then dial 1571 get your message, delete it, then it should work fine.

Make sure you don't have interrupted dial tone(BT Answer call waiting  or line on divert etc) Many modems see this as no dial tone.

If you do then untick the "Wait for dial tone before dialling"

option under modems in Control panel
