Question:

I have installed AVG Free Version 8.0.138. I am unable to perform scan of my computer.?

Whenever I click on "Scan Whole Computer" nothing happens. I have reinstalled anti-virus twice but condition is still same. Even I have set up scheduled scan every day at 1:00 PM but scan does not begin even on scheduled time.

What could be the problem? Please help

  1. Try these things...

    1. Remove AVG, reboot PC, Reinstall AVG, Run all updates to bring AVG to current and make sure that scheduled scan task is not disabled.

    2. If you prefer not to remove AVG, then try to reinstall but select "Repair" from the installation options and then again run all the updates.

    If none of these work then download a utility called Dial a Fix and run it before and after you perform step 1.

    At this stage, you should be able to run the scan...
