I have installed installed ubuntu in my hard disk. the problem is i cant play any media with this os?

it says the codecs are not available.

so can u pls give me the exact links for downloading codec pack for ubuntu and also for kubuntu

1. choose system>admin>software source>chose accordingly - this will determine the on-line update(s).

2. the first time you want to play a song or movie, make sure that you are connected to the internet. load the disk or open the media file and the system will find and download the necessary codec(s) for you.
