  1. you will probably not get your license back because it is a provisional it is classed as a ban this may be for a year  You did not say what they police actually fined you for?? was it driving without tax, insurance and a full license without a qualified driver with you.  If this is the case then it will defo be a  ban you cannot get more than 6 points on your provisional license or full license within a year of passing without loosing it or having to retake your test, as you have not taken a test this will constitute a ban

  2. First of all, lets get one thing straight; the 6 point = disqualification rule only applies do drivers that have PASSED their test, not to provisional licence holders (so you can in fact get more points on a provisional licence than you can in the first 2 years of passing your FIRST test).

If you have been given a fixed penalty ticket then you won't be going to court so there is no chance of a driving ban.

If the fixed penalty ticket was for 6 points then I assume this was for driving without insurance as driving other than in accordance with your licence (i.e. unsupervised/no L plates) is usually a 3 point fixed penalty ticket.

You can continue to drive while the police/DVLA have your licence - it's perfectly legal. But you must inform your insurance company that you now have (or will be getting) 6 penalty points on your licence.

  3. You can drive whilst your licence is with the DVLA so long as you have all the other requirements in place. Your insurance company will load your premium now because of the points. But this will hopefully be a warning to you to obey the rules of the road from now on, it gets very pricey if you don't.

  4. you need to inform the insurance company of your 6 points and they will ask for a code that will be on your licence, the insurance will then whack you very hard so that 60 fine won't seem so light.

  5. Chris. what, exactly, were you fined for? It sounds like you received a fixed penalty notice, but that doesn't normally get you 6 points.

Whatever, while your licence is away having points added you may continue driving.
