Not just to keep myself awake, but to keep myself alert so that I will be able to listen to all the evidence (and so on)...

  1. Try chanting "Hope!" and "Change!" and watch the reaction you get; they'll drop to their knees at your feet and you, basking in all the unwarranted attention, will be wide awake. Try it - it obviously works!

  2. a lot of caffeine

  3. Take notes. It will help to keep you focused.

  4. Get plenty of rest the night before and eat a well balanced breakfast.

  5. Imagine that you are one of the parties to the case you are hearing.  Act like you would want the jurors hearing your case to act.

  6. Focus on the evidence. It can be boring, I know. It can also alter the lives of the people involed. I think it also sounds like an opportunity to see our justice system in action. It's only a drag if your preconceived notions and lack of interest in your fellow man allow.

  7. Very often the court kindly provides jurors with incredibly uncomfortable chairs which aid them in keeping alert.

  8. Take pride in doing your civic duty. Frankly, I think it would be a fascinating experience.

  9. Read a book I often read the Dresdex Codex its a spellbinder.  Its funny how the past can become a current event.

  10. Don't know if you have them where you are but the 5hr energy drink is great. When i work doubles i drink it for the second job. Same amount of caffeine as 1 cup of coffee without the jitters. Got everyone at work using it to. It keeps your mind sharp and you full of energy. i sound like a commercial :) but it works

  11. I would say a possible citation for contempt of court would be sufficient or you can just continue your nap in confinement.

If you consume large amounts of coffee, it will keep you awake, not necessarily from the caffiene but bladder pressure.
