I have just been offered a job in florida with a condo how do i get h-b2 visa as i am nonskilled and how long?

a friend has offered me a job in florida with appartment/condo and im not sure what visa to get.i think i need a h-b2 visa for nonskilled workers.how long will it take for a work visa or will it be easier to go to us immagration in london ,every company i ask want money for the imformation. i want to get a green card eventually but i want just for now to get work visa. i want to take the job but dont want to go on tourist visa and get in trouble.theres so many different visas and im not sure what one is best.i don't know if me being born in canada will help at all. please can someone help.thanks larry r

  1. H2a visas are for agricultural workers. H2bs are for temporary or seasonal employment and cover all sorts of activities. Your friend would have to file the proper paperwork with USCIS in the US. but that may be pretty hard as these visas are limited in number and run out just like the skilled worker H1bs. If you're a Canadian citizen, you wouldn't need an actual visa to enter the US, but the paperwork for the visa would still need to be done. have your friend check out uscis.gov for more  information and forms.

  3. Employers must apply for work permits.  You cannot. Unskilled labor visas are predominently for agricultural workers, so the type of work you plan to do might not be covered by any type of available visa.  Each type of visa has very specific restrictions.

    Employment visas/work permits are all temporary visas and not a path to a green card, although the employer might be able to sponsor you for an immigration application after several years continuous employment.
