Question:

I have just bought a barometer from a car boot...?

It is mounted on oak wood and has a thermometer and a hygrometer dial also. it has a s***w on the back which the man i bought it off said i could adjust to the right setting but i have been searching the internet for ages since and cannot find any weather forecasts with barometric readings whatsoever, it is really p***ing me off!!! Please can anyone help

  1. The weather channel web site has barometer readings for all the areas that they collect data.  Got to their site and type in your location it will give you all the current weather data.

    edit:  The Yahoo weather also has the barometric pressure on it.  If you are not using that feature add it on.


  2. I'm not sure where you are in the world...although using the word 'boot' makes it sound like the UK. To find current barometric pressure values...just go to http://www.wunderground.com and type in where you are in the top box, then what pops up should give you the pressure (under Current Conditions). For example, right now at 1620 GMT at Cardiff, Wales it shows Pressure at 29.93 inches of Mercury / 1013.4 hPa. Depending on what units your barometer is in, use one of these values to calibrate it. If you need millibars, 1 mb=1 hPa, an easy enough conversion.
