  1. Look into getting another type of cloth

  2. Check to see if the cloth is loose.  If not, check to see if there is a heater built into the table, it will be under the table, and when turned on, it speeds up the table a bit.  Lastly, if the cloth is not loose, try ironing the cloth with the nap (special irons are available for this).  If the cloth is loose, u need to either change it or get a table outfitter to stretch the cloth if it is still in good condition.  Hope this helps u :-)

  3. Just have a new green cloth put on it. Or I think there is some stuff you can buy to spray on it and let dry. It helps with speed of green.

  4. to go with CDN's answer which is a great answer. Push your hand across the cloth, and it should not bunch up at all, or move at all, if so a tiny tiny bit, if it does, it needs restretched, or might as well get simonis 860 if you decide to get new cloth. also if its a older or used table, how are the rails responding? after awhile the rubber on the rails get like a old rubberband= hard, and dark yellow, and starts to crack. if you have to pick or constintlly brush lint coming out of the cloth= you do not have a very fast cloth to begin with, and recommend putting simonis 860 on it, if the cloth is stretched tight, and the rail rubber is good, and it's still to slow for your perference. don't bother with time or money putting it on a table that is not slate, in my opinion. any questions, feel free 2 ask.

  5. It is very likely that the problem is with the cloth that needs to be corrected. It may not be a good quality billiard cloth or if this is a new cloth from a reputable source, it may just be that the wrong side of the cloth has been installed as the up surface. Yes, the speed of cloth from brand to brand is very different and there are two sides to most billiard cloths so using the wrong or unintended side will slow the table down a great deal. As an example if you were to shoot two balls at the same speed, one on Forstmann cloth and one on Simonis cloth, the ball on the Simonis would go one and a half times further. Simonis is a 100% worsted wool cloth, which makes it very responsive to the speed and spin of the balls. The difficulty is the expensive price, however, advanced players are usually willing to overlook this factor for its excellent playability and feel. The top side of Simonis 860 cloth, which is designed for the positonal play required of nine ball and snooker, is the smooth side up.

There are lower priced cloths that provide a reasonable playing surface like Titan and a little more expensive Tour Edition Pro but I personally prefer Simonis cloth on my tables. In my mind, there is a great deal of reason why Simonis Billiard Cloth has been the choice on tournament tables all around the world, for many generations. Quality of response and consistent play are the key reasons. I believe only Simonis Billiard cloth gives you a surface so smooth and flat you never need to overpower a shot to get the distance and I suspect this is why Simonis is the official cloth of the U.S. Professional Billiard Tour, Euro Tour, European Pocket Billiard Federation and the World Pool Billiard Association. Bite the bullet on the price, on a home table the cloth can last many, many years, if this is part of what makes the game great, its not like you replace it every year!

    Good Shooting!
