I have just confused myself on time zones, What time is it in PST if it is midnight in EST?

I thought we were 4 hrs apart btw EST and PST so I thought it would be 8pm if it were 12am in EST, but my friend and my time clock on the computer say it is 9pm in PST if it's 12am in EST. ...*sigh* I'm so confused.

PST is 3 hours behind EST. Central and Mountain are in between.

There's 3 hours difference between the 2.  So when it's Midnight EST, it's 9:00pm PST.
