  1. Did you just get him?Wait about 2weeks after you got him.Make sure you take your time and do it all STEP by STEP..Make sure he is tamed first then you can teach him pretty much whatever you'd like for exsample how about talking...Here is how you do it::

Usually words with one or two syllables are the easiest.

The same person doing the talking is also beneficial.

Teach the Cockatoo to say only one word at a time.

Choose your word, and say it over and over in front of the Cockatoo.

Record the word, over and over. Play the tape for the Cockatoo throughout each day.

Teaching a bird to say a word is a very dedicated effort, and persistence will win out in the end.

Repeat the steps in step one. There is not anything magic about it.

The Cockatoo will eventually say the word, but it may take a couple of months for Cockatoo to mock sounds.

Cockatoos also learn the meanings of the words, and will use these words appropriately.

Step three is more of step one and two.

    Be consistent, thorough, and determined.

Be good to your Cockatoo. Don't allow anyone to tease your Cockatoo or it will get vicious.

Take good care of your Cockatoo, feeding a variety of foods: fresh fruit, fresh vegetables.

Remember to always be nice to the Cockatoo, and not to use swear words in front of it as may be able recite them.

    Whew...Good luck

  2. tame him first and train him to talk first

  3. You should start with step up and step down. It's easy and useful throughout the rest of training, try these sites. http://www.birdtricks.com/Cockatoos/goff... and http://www.birdsnways.com/cockatoo/artic... Good luck!
