  1. Windows SP3 is an update for Windows XP that adresses both security and performance issues and some general bugs in previous versions.

    You will not notice any difference at first, but SP3 does show an eventual improvement in performance.

    It is highly advisable to install it, if only for the security issues it corrects.

  2. Service Pack 3 is all of the updates previously made by Microsoft with additional features like

        * Turns Black hole router detection on by default

        * Network Access Protection client

        * Windows Imaging Component

        * Credentials Security Service Provider

        * Descriptive Security options in Group Policy/Local Security Policy user interface

        * An updated version of the Microsoft Kernel Mode Cryptographic Module that is FIPS 140-2 certified

        * Installing without requiring a product key during setup for retail      and OEM versions

    This is the final service pack for XP and it has little noticeable changes

  3. for security

  4. Itz mostly for virus purposes and to get illegal activities reduce.

  5. just patching for security reasons and performance issues

  6. Windows XP SP3 is an update which contains any security & performance update since SP2 (I think that was 2004 or 5).\

    You won't see a difference, but I'd recommend you get it.

    Also, if you have Windows Vista, you should get SP1.

  7. service p 3 is some update of sp2
