  1. To Format with XP:

    Turn off PC.

Open CD ROM tray and insert OS disk.

Start PC and press any key to "boot from CD".

    Follow prompts.

Delete present partition and choose to reformat using NTFS File System.

    Follow prompts.

When PC prompts to reboot, do not press any key to"boot from CD" let system continue.  When finished you have newly formatted drive.

  2. i think you can try by introducing the windows instalation cd and booting from it, select that you want to install it, then when it ask you about partitions, you have to select the "D:" (where windows its installed) and select erase partition, then, create the partition you erased again with the free space available (so you can use that partition with ubuntu)... then exit the instalation and reboot... ubuntu should start automatically and there won't be no more windows on your computer...

    good luck

  3. Just insert the windows XP CD and run the recovery console, then type there, "format d: /q" (without quotes), you are done!. If the computer still shows 2 operating system to load in choices then dont worry, edit the boot.ini in c:, then delete the line saying "Windows XP Professional (or home or whatever) Edition". Save and then restart, you are done.
