I have just switched on my shower and it has blown all the socket fuse any ideas it is a triton t200re thanx?

  1. An electric shower should be on its own radial circuit with a cable size of 10mm that circuit should be protected by a RCD rated at 30 milliamp.  The mcb should be rated at 32 amps.

    There is not any way the shower should be on the ring main as it does not cornform to the IEE Regulations.


  2. An electric shower should have its own fuse and not be wired into the sockets.  

  3. When they age the heater eventually fails and may short out blowing the fuse.  You need a competent repairer to check the resistance of the heater and to earth to confirm this.  Unfortunately the spares may not be available any longer so it could mean a whole new shower!

    I repaired one a few years ago, they warned me the spares were in short supply then. Triton no longer list the T200RE on the spares site
