  1. it's against the law here in california, they have 2 free days a month and they will take them at the dump .. i think its like forever to rot away..and bad ..

  2. you are a bad boy, now how many carbon credits are you going to buy to make up for that?

  3. Probably a very long time. You should have called your local recycling center and asked them the best way to dispose of it. Most facilities will take what they call hazardous materials or hard to recycle materials and find a way to properly get rid of them. You could have donated it to someone as well.

    Reduce, Recycle, Reuse.

    Cheers!

  4. It's a bad, toxic move.  And don't think of burning it either.  I wouldn't want to breath the resulting bad air, and you shouldn't.  Check out where you can dispose of old computers in your community.  In California where I live, we have a program, Computers for Classrooms.  They take old computers, printers, and anything else related, no matter what the condition.  Volunteers put in so many hours learning to build computers and end up with a free one.

A tour of the phone book might give you a clue as to where you can dispose of your computer hardware in the future.  Or you could ask at the store.

  5. Monitors need to be taken to a disposal facility where they collect  hazardous materials. Monitors have toxic components and are very harmful to the environment.

  6. 10-20 years.

why dont you just give it to someone

  7. ummmm... lets see, FOREVERRR!! good goin

  8. Longer if they bury it, less time if they leave it exposed to the elements. Sunlight breaks down the plastic ASAP, exposing the other parts to the elements, speeding up the process.  Burying things make dumps look nicer, but really slow down the process in drier soils.

I have one that has been sitting in a junk pile behind my garage for about 6 years, and it is already almost unrecognizable.  Mice have made it a home, the plastic case is so brittle just a light touch breaks it into tiny pieces.  The glass is the main problem, that will be around for a long time until it grinds back into the sand it came from [couple hundred years or more for that].

  9. Two Milena

  10. it will take a long time you should have burnt it first then it would'nt take so long to rot away.

I have a big old 22 in Diamonotron 22 inch monitor that i wont part with and it looks like a portable tv.

Nice for watching the NetFlix movies on.
