I have knee pains from basketball?

I play basketball and a couple of months ago my knee was kinda sore but yet it would hurt. My mom doesn't think it is to serious to get an MRI (she doesn't think it's a torn ligament) Every once and a while when i'm running or even just walking up stairs it will hurt. Does anyone have any idea why this is? Oh and should I wrap it for basketball?

  1. it is a direct result of playing basketball.....basketball messes up ur knees

  2. do this.. stand straight.. grab your ankle and pull it back so your foot is on your butt.. your knee should feel like its gonna POP.. do this for a minute (it should pop).. when you do that if it doesnt work lay on your bed and ice it.. Get a knee brace...

  3. it could depend on age if you are between age 12-16 it could osgood-shattler disease. it isn't serious ( i have it) it is an enlarged shinbone that during frequent exercise get sore and tender to the touch it goes away after a few months or sooner but when i hurts i put on some a5-35 and put it in a wrap and just relax for a little bit. It is definitley not a torn ligiment because the pain would be much more severe. there are other minor conditions that target the new of frequent runners and exercisers. Until you find out just stop running as hard and the pain should subside. i hope i helped

  4. dont worry, this happened to me before its just cuz i played to much basketball and used my legs too much. put some ice on it and stop laying for like a few days and see if it helps. if i doesnt go to the docs

  5. Just stay away from exercising for a while.
