Sturridge claimed that a player has to be mentally strong to succeed in football which he learnt from Didier Drogba. The player admitted that he learnt a lot from the Ivory Coast international during his time at Chelsea and is
confident of emulating Drogba later in his career.
“Being strong mentally is the one thing that can separate you from anyone else. When I worked with Drogba at Chelsea, the one strength he had above everybody was his mental strength. I learned a lot from working with him about
what it takes to be a top player. Hopefully I'll become one,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the player expressed his delight on scoring a brilliant hat-trick against Fulham in his last league game. Liverpool won the game 3-1 and Sturridge scored all the goals for the away side. He is confident of having
a great season at the club next season and wants to continue with his goal-scoring form in the upcoming campaign also.
