I have learnt to build an innings, claims http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tamim-Iqbal-c2640 – Cricket News Update
Tamim Iqbal, the Bangladeshi opening batsman, feels that his game has improved in recent times and is confident of doing well in the forthcoming http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World T20 2012.
The mega event is going to commence from Tuesday in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754.
The left-handed opener and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shakib-Al-Hasan-c2492 are considered by many as Bangladesh’s premier batsmen, with the team relying heavily on the duo to come good in most of the matches.
Since debuting in 2007, Tamim has been a permanent member of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bengal-c771 Tigers in all formats of the game. The stylish batsman is known for his aggressive approach and remains strong through the off-side.
The left-hander represented Wayamba United in the first edition of the Sri Lanka Premier League and was an integral part of the Bangladesh squad for the recently concluded tour of Europe. Tamim is happy with his recent batting form
and wants to carry forward the momentum in the World T20.
"I have been playing quite a few T20s recently, around 15-20 in the last month or so," Tamim said. "I think I am in very good shape, I understand the game better than before. I hope I can carry it into the World T20 and perform well.”
In the 24 Tests, 113 One Day Internationals and 21 T20s played for his country, the opening batsman has scored more than five thousand runs, with the help of seven hundreds.
In past, Tamim has often been criticized for his rash stroke-play and being one-dimensional; however, the left-hander claims to have enhanced his game and said that he has learnt to build an innings in the limited-over sport.
"Earlier I was struggling to pace my innings. I used to attack from ball one. Now I think I am batting more cleverly - attacking as well as picking up the singles. That's how you should bat in T20s," he added.
Bangladesh will play their opening match of the World T20 on September 21st at Pallekele against the Kiwis.
