I was worried I wouldnt be short listed for an interview so I said I had 5 gcse's when I only have about 1 or 2. I am already employed, I have been for 6 years, they didnt ask for my grades but this new job as an admin assistant did. If they ask for my certificate, should I say I have lost it??

  1. to gain we have to loose something so let be a layer at the fist time. but you have already got six years of experience, that's the strong point to get your new job. Remember one thing that you have initially lied and got the tough job. And got so much experience.

So be sincere, and don't try to cheat next time.

Best of luck for your new Job.

  2. No. One lie shouldn't lead to another.

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave,

when first we practice to deceive."

  3. Yeah right.  They will believe you lost it... and then they'll say "Write for a copy of your transcripts..."  Easy.

Before you get in any deeper, write to them or call and say "Thank you so much for your time.  I have had another offer, so I won't take any more of your time, thank you."

And then stop lying.  It won't get you anywhere.
