I started a diet mid June, and I have lost 17lbs. Should I have lost more weight then that? Is this a slow weight lose?

  1. if you're trying to lose weight you should really give Acai Berry a shot! i saw it on oprah and i'm trying it myself right now.. got a 14-day FREE trial from this site!

  2. how did you do it? also, it kinda depends. the larger you are the less of a triumph it is, the smaller you are the greater.

  4. No thats just fine! Thats about 2 lbs per week which is really good! Im sure you werent sticking to everything perfectly, so thats why it might feel like its a slow process. If you need any more help with how many calories you should be consuming or burning go to http://www.sparkpeople.com and get some insight there. Good luck

  5. thats good, keep it up ;)

  6. wow congrats!

  7. thats really good.  Its a slow weight lose but i don't know how much you weigh and what you look like so its hard to help :/

  8. Some medical experts (don't ask me which ones) at Herbalife say that between 3-5 pounds per week is healthy. So mid june to late August is what 9 weeks? Therefore 9x3lbs=27lbs. And 9x5lbs=45lbs. Also 17/9=1.9lbs. That means you lost 1.9lbs per week.

So let's look at this. Is this good or not? Well, it depends where you lost the weight. If you targeted the weight loss, say in the belly, then it's great, you were probably burning fat. If you didn't have any water weight to lose then your diet works good.

If you didn't target the weight loss and lost weight all over then you may have lost only water and not burned any fat.

So, it's good if you think it is. If you think you are only shedding water weight and want to burn more fat then, your diet may need modification.

If you hit a plateau and stopped losing weight after an initial weight loss and you want to keep losing weight then, you may not need to modify your diet. Plateaus happen, you just have to wait them out or identify the areas where your diet is lacking and modify it.

Here's a tip. It is more important to keep track of your size than it is your weight during a diet. If you are building muscle to replace burnt fat you won't have a big weight loss but should see the inch loss instead. This is a more tangible measurement of how good your diet is working.

Another tip: Plan your diet. If you plan to lose 25 lbs then plan on losing 25 lbs. Take a look at this successfull weight loss plan.

    Hope this helps

    Tim

  9. That is a rather fast rate of weight loss actually.  About a pound a week is good.  The most important question for you to ask yourself is whether you have made healthy life style changes, not whether you should have lost more weight.
