Question:

I have lost a lot of weight and would now like to take up running.?

here is my question.

I know there is a chance my weight my go up? but could i become "thinner" in the process????

Please advice. I have lost too much weight to worry about gaining but I dont mind muscle if I am thinner in appearance?

  1. your weight will go up a little if you run alot b/c you are adding muscle weight. You might get thinner in some areas and gain muscle in others but your actual weight will not change too much.  Keep eating healthy and you will be good!


  2. Yes, my weight went up a bit when I started running.. I was underweight to start though. You will most likely maintain the same weight, maybe gain a few pounds of muscle. If you gain muscle/become toned you will most definitely look slimmer and leaner in appearance :)

    Be sure to slowly ease into a running routine so that you do not get injured (start with a 1-2 days/week running and other days bike, elliptical, etc) and also add in some strength training!
