  1. You can buy a small part of the lock, look on the front edge of the door and you should find a small bolt.  Carefully take this out and slide out the actual locking piece, nip off to a locksmith with it and buy a new one, come back home and fix it.  You need to be very careful with the small bolt as when you drop one they usually hide or slide down the only gap in your floor they can find.  This is called Sods Law.

  2. A locksmith can re pin the lock and give you a new key. Shouldn't take long if its a standard cylinder key.

  3. if the door is unlocked - there will be a s***w in the stile, unscrew this and pull out the barrel - probably euro-profile - take it to a hardware store and get a new barrel - the whole process only requires 1 screwdriver - if locked call a locksmith.

  4. You can get a new lock. Ring a locksmith

  5. Why don't you contact the double glazing company who supplied the door they may know the key number or give you the name of the company who supply their keys.

If the door is locked they may come as a courtesy call and open up also.

On our porch d/glazed we have a unique number for the key and a contact number to get a replacement.

A locksmith could be the most expensive option call out fee's

when you could rely on the d/g company first

  6. if you have a euro cylinder, remove the handles put mole grips on either side of the door on the cylinder, now pull both mole grips toward you, you will find that the barrel just snaps, now fit a new barrel, its the way i do it and im a locksmith

  7. easy to replace the lock. I bought a new one and fitted it myself in 10 mins. if you  not up to it? ask a trusted neighbour or Friend if they can change it for you. failing that look for a local locksmith but that will cost a bit more of course.
