  1. only if its a recent one, with mine, i was told as it was more than two years old I have to have another sight test before they could give me new glasses.

  2. for an emergency.... yes

  3. Yes you can, provided it is fairly recent they will make you another pair of glasses from it. If however they consider it too old, they may insist on a new eye test.

  4. It truely depends on the state you are in. but, the federal rule is that your Rx should be good for 2 years, legally. If it is over 2 years old they do not have to fill it. In some states they can if it is an emergency.  call your doctor and see if you can get it extended for this one time if it is truely expired. Other than that, you will need an appoinment for an eye exam.

  5. as long as the precription is NOT a year old

anything over a year they will not replace

  6. Vision Express can make them up for you! While you wait!

  7. Yes you can take your prescription to any optician. If your glasses were over 2 years old then you would be best advised to have another eye test. You would need one soon anyway.

  8. Yep - also try online - much cheaper but takes a bit longer obviously.

  9. If it's very recent ... I don't see why not, if it's an old one you might as well get a new eye exam at the same time.

After all the exam takes minutes, it's making up the lenses that takes time and that'll be the same, old prescription or new.

Also if you going to have to fork out for new specs, might as well have the best prescription eh ?

Most opticians are pretty good at fitting you in quickly for an eye exam if you explain the situation.
