I have lost my passport. How do I report it to the concerned officers to invalidate it?

  1. Loss of passport should be immediately reported to the nearest Police Station and to the nearest Passport Office/Indian Mission. Passport holder shall be responsible for misuse of passport, due to non-intimation of loss to the concerned Passport Office/Indian Mission.


  2. first file an F I R with the police station in whose area u lost this passport.

    then fill up an application form for fresh passport and give all available details on the old passport in the areas indiated in the passport form. deposit the same with the local passport office and your job will be done.
