They have non-stick stuff surfaces and plastic handles. Don't want them sitting in a landfill if it isn't necessary.

  1. Depends on what is meant by "ruined". If you really want to be ambitious, you could turn them into some sort of art. Painting scenery or other pictures could be entertaining. They can also serve as reservoirs for potted plants, dog food dishes, honky-tonk "wind chimes", or if they have any use left to them at all then give them to someone to leave at their favorite campsite for use when they go camping.

The only other thing I can think of off the top of my head is that you could start banging them together in order to annoy someone you really detest. ;-) But then, that's probably not such a good idea. ;-D

  2. Teflon is not recyclable through normal channels.  You can send it into the manufacturer and get them resurfaced, but this often costs more than the pots are worth.

Unfortunately, I think you're going to have to toss them into a landfill.  But, when you buy new pots and pans - do not buy teflon!  Buy high quality stainless steel pots and pans.  They can last a lifetime.  My mother has had her set of pots for over 40 years.

Do not use the old pots and pans to feed pets.  Teflon is hazardous to all animals, and if the pots and pans are scratched the teflon is likely to flake off into their food or water.

  3. Take them to a scrap metal recycling facility.

  4. Yes take them to a scrap metal place to dispose of properly. Also you can donate them to your local chapter of P.A.W.S. If they are not too horrible they make nice feeding dishes for these stray pets.

  5. Call your local recycler. Lots of them take all metal produts.
