I have mail on yahoo, when i try to open it, the att/yahoo takes over and i cannot use my regular yahoo. why?

my internet connection is with att/yahoo, all yahoo is redirected through the att/yahoo, which does not recognize my usual yahoo account. i have a yahoo web site and i cannot maintain it as it is not att/yahoo. i just need my old yahoo back, how do i get it back?
