I was thinking of trying something vaguely similar to the Vegas Roach Trap, bnut using flour instead of coffee grounds as I know mealworm beetles like it.

Obviously, it'd need other alterations.

I live in the UK, BTW

  1. To keep these small critter's away in my house I put whole bay leaves in my flour, meal, pasta and rice.  I do not know how it works but I never have meal worms in my food.  I also will lay bay leaves in the cabinets. If you already have meal worms you may have to throw everything away and start over again. This works in the southern USA no reason it would not work in the UK.  Good luck.

  2. throw away all of your grains and cereals, that is the only way.  You have to know what caused them to come into the house and they may well have entered in a bag fromthe grocery market.  So to get rid of them, you have to throw away, completely out of the house, all things made from grains - flour, cornmeal, oatmeal, cornflakes, other breakfast cereals.  That is all you need to do.  If they have nothing to eat, they will either die or leave.

  3. there will be a source they are infesting, as the population grows they will spread.  Get rid of the infestation..get rid of any possible new infestation sites and thoroughly clean where the infestation took place and the problem will be gone without chemicals (assuming you aren't calling water a chemical)

  4. I'd clean out those cupboards and freeze anything you think might be infested! Freezing will kill the larva at least and you don't have to use any pesticides. As I live in the US, I don't know any UK sites identifying pests. You might try a search on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in the UK, that's the magical term you'll want.
