I have med bills from before i had insurance. Can i still file papers for help paying the bills now?

I went to the ER before i had insurance and got papers to help get most of it paid for because i didnt have insurance. i never made it back to the ER to finish up with the papers before i got insurance. can i still file those papers now that i have insurance?

  1. No insurance company is going to let you claim an expense that you incurred BEFORE you were covered by their policy.


  2. Yes file the paperwork for the assistance. The insurance you have now will not cover bills you incurred prior to your effective date. Don't delay--it's more hassle to get the approval for accounts that have gone to the point of a collection agency.
