Question:

I have moderate to severe pain in my forefoot and heel after having ankle surgery almost a year ago ?

(ankle is okay, although range of motion isn't 100%and I still limp slightly) What could this be?

  1. Might be arthritis, fairly common after injury and surgery.

If you live in the UK, we have a specialist foot & ankle clinic at the hospital where I work (NB it is private though) - London Foot & Ankle Centre, c/o Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth, London NW8 9NH.....also a private one at London Bridge Hospital.  Some of the same surgeons work for the NHS at Guy's, one of my friends is a secretary there.

    Maybe you could ask your GP for a re-referral to the surgeon or department where you had the op done?  Physio sounds a good idea too.  I doubt if an X-ray would show much, but an ultrasound or MRI might be useful to diagnose any trouble.

  3. you could be using one muslcle more than the other. all your muslces are connected so there could be a problem lets say in ur calf that could be effeciting your ankle! go to a physical theropist and they will help yout out!
