  1. if working ring your mobile phone to get number

  2. just dial 100 then they will put you through to the right department

  3. 17070, or 147017070 if the number's witheld

  4. you will need to contact bt on 0800 800 150 to set up a new account. there wont be a number there just because theres a socket. the number would have belonged to the previous tennant and you dont want to be getting calls for them do you? as theres already a line there, it shouldnt cost too much (if anything) to get a new number

  5. You need to ring BT. Just becasue there is a socket that doesn't mean there is a number, you will have to set up an account with BT at which point they will give you a number. I think you can ask for an account where you can only receive incoming calls.

When you ask BT for a phone number ask them for a new one not teh one previously attached to your address, i made that mistake and now i have people ringing me asking for people that lived in the flat i live in ten years ago!

  6. The socket won't be connected to the phone system so you need to phone BT on 0800 800 150 and get them to connect it. The engineer who comes to do it will give you the number.
