  That is a reviewed list of shredder programs.  However, one thing to keep in mind is that the companies within the U.S. which produce these types of software must conform to a government specified method of deletion which allows them to be the only ones capable of retrieving the deleted file.  Your safest bet is to perform a low level format if you dont want even the FBI to have recovery capabilities. Otherwise most of those shredder programs that rewrite garbled data on the newly cleaned sectors of your drive will do just fine.
