  1. You will need to apply the same way as before except to note that you have previously issued one.  Try this link.

  2. Almost the same procedure when you applied for the US visa.

  3. Ummm... this is a really serious question. I would not really trust the advice of Yahoo Answers since I doubt anyone is an immigration lawyer. Make an appointment with your lawyer to go over the policies and procedures.

  4. I don't think they "renew" visas. You will probably have to apply for a new one. Also I think they are less likely to give you the long term multiple entry visa these days (unless it's a business visa). You MAY have a problem getting a visa esp considering your age and if you have children living in the USA who you are going to visit cos they (the embassy) will be concerned that you want to go live there so part of your visa application should include proof that you would return to India (e.g. business,  investments, family responsibilities etc. I think you also have to have a letter from your bank ensuring that you can pay for your trip.

But all this information is quite clearly laid out on the US consulate website so you can refer to that.

Check out the US consulate website (Chennai not Delhi .. for Bangalore-based people you have to go through Chennai). Most of the information and forms etc are all there. Sorry I don't have the URL but just google for US consulate chennai and it should take you there.

There's also a Visa Information centre of some sort on St Mark's Road .. just next to Bishop Cotton Boys School (opposite Cash Pharmacy and Bluebell Sweets .. which incidentally makes very nice kachori's so if you go there you should buy some!!). The timings of that US centre are a bit vague so if you can get the phone number from the website, check and make sure what their timings are and which days they are open .. otherwise you'll have to deal with the terrible traffic and parking so might as well make sure it's open first!

Also they are very paranoid so you will have to leave your mobile phone outside!

I think you can apply for the visa online through the US consulate website, I'm not too sure .. or at least through the information centre on st marks rd. Then once it's got a first approval they will contact you and ask you to go to Chennai for your interview. The interview is compulsory for every single visa applicant. Only after that will they decide whether to give you a visa or not.

Some travel agents provide a service to assist you with all the hassles of filling out forms etc. I think. I'm not too sure but you can ask them if you have a good one. It will be less hassle for you.

Good luck! Maybe you should just go for your holiday now and come back before the visa expires! Less hassle ..

  5. there really isn't a "renewal" of a US tourist visa. once it expires, you have to apply to get another one.
