There is no problem as such in the performance of my laptop. However, whenever i open 'My Computer' and press the refesh button on the toolbar (i have a nagging habit of doing it every time, pardon me) my local hard drives C and E flips, or so to say, exchange their positions. This happens after the screen goes momentarily blank (not the common task in the left pane but only the right one having my documents and storage drives). I have my DVD/CD RW drive named as D while the two partitioned hard disc drives named as C and E respectively. Though not a critical problem, it keeps bothering me always. Kindly advise

  1. This is often the case, refresh may sort by the name rather than the letter of the drive.

  2. If you are using Windows XP then changing the drive letter in windows xp is very simple. For a step by step picture tutorial see this website..

  3. i think your drives are sort by size....so sort drive by name rather than size

  4. try cleaning up the registry. Else try PC SpeedScan Pro . It helps in cleaning up the problems and makes the system faster. I think this might help you out. Just try it out in case it resolves this issue.
