I have my Pennsylvania licensed car currently in Canada. Can I get the yearly inspection done here?

Worst case scenario..... Can I have it safety inspected in another State?

  1. Nope.  If you have a PA licensed car it has to be inspected in PA.

    The inspection must match the plates and registration.

    ~~ The question was can you have it inspected in a different state.... the answer is... PA inspection has to be done in PA... you can't have a vehicle registered in PA with PA plates .... having an inspection done in Canada...


  2. lol, no you can't. You have to drive back to PA.

    I have a Mass Plate car in CT and i have to drive to MA annually for the emission inspection

  3. Pennsylvania law allows vehicle owners who are outside the Commonwealth for more than 30 continuous days, to have their vehicle inspected within 10 days upon their return to Pennsylvania. It is recommended that you carry documentation (such as receipts) supporting your absence for the previous 30 days.

    You do not need to have the car reinspected until you return to PA, and then you have 10 days to do so!
