  1. There are different time options you can be looking at for incoming mail.

    1)  The time the sender sent it

    2)  The time the email server sent/received it (may be some delay if the email server is busy)

    3)  The time Outlook synched with the Server

    4)  If its off by even hours, it could be a  Time Zone.

I am thinking that you are probably looking at #2.

Try sending yourself an email from gMail or Yahoo.  That way you can get a known time of sending and receiving and see if you can deduce what the error could be form there.

Also.... If the time stamp is coming from the server of your ISP, it could be set to a bad time and skewing it.  This is bad if the server is in a MS environment since they base a lot of their security on Kerberos which doesnt like that so well!

  2. I would check to see what time zone your email preferences are set to. That happened to me before!

  3. The time on your incoming mail is not set by your computer. The email server itself places a time-stamp on each email. Whoever provides your email service (gmail, centurytel, yahoo, etc.) needs to correct the time on their servers.
