it is going to depend on the state. every state is different in how it works the funding and what kind of help a parent can get. please provide a few details such as state and what kind of help you are look at.  In alaska you could get daily respite and yearly.  depending on level of assistance needed. also would be help finacially through the waiver and grant program.
