If yyou are illegal, you don't get either one.

Go to your local Social Security Admin office with your passport and a birth certificate and get a new copy of your Social Security Card. Then take a bank statement, your passport, and the new SS card with the copy of birth certificate to the nearest Texas DMV and take the drivers test.

That is correct, pretty much anyone can get an SSN in the USA as long as they are here legally. To do anything useful with it, you need to be authorized to work here though.
