I have my series 6 license can it be transfer to another state?

I'm planning on moving can I transfer my series 6 license to another state or do I have to take it all over again after I moved? thanks

You can take your series 6 anywhere you want. If you are planning to move, you must update your U4 form immediately after you move. You may also want to check that state if you need a Series 63. Some states only need a Series 6 to solicit mutual funds and variable annuities. Other states requires a 6 & 63.

Series 6 is not a state specific license so it'll follow you wherever you go as long as it's not inactive for more than 2 years.

It depends on your home state and new state.  Some are reciprocal, some will make you retest.
