  1. you have to ensure the US consulate officials that you are not going to stay in US for ever...

show them proof of your admission in US institute / university... your mode of survival... source of income... sponsorship... etc...

you have to prove that you have solid base in India and you will have everything to survive whenever you come back to India...

show them your proof of residence.. property papers... bank account papers... certificate of your education... PAN card, ration card or driving licence etc... details of your parents and their professions will also support speedy disposal...

carry photocopies of all the documents with you...

  3. All your papers your experience and education,

Anything can support your Visa, I mean anything that can show you can also support yourself.

Most important is your confidence American like you to be very confidante.

    I wish you good luck.

  4. I'm an international student and had to go through the F1 visa interview. Here's how i prepared

get a harmonium folder - one with 12 ridges and arrange them as follows...

    1>Web appmt letter

    2>DS forms,I20,Passport,SEVIS fee receipt.

    3>Score/Marksheets-GRE,TOEFL

4>University documents - course and degree certificates, INDIVIDUAL marklists

    5>CA statement

    6>Bank Statement + Passbook

    7>IT returs/Salary Slips 8>FDs, Bonds, Shares

    9>Affidavit of Support

    10>Work Ex related docs..if any

11>Admission letter,SOP, Any mail corresp with profs..

12>Other univ admit/reject letters..[do tell you have more admits than rejects... the visa officer (VO) will not know abt your rejects]

The VO is going to judge you primarily on whether you're going to come back to india or not, so be prepared to show strong ties to home. They'll ask you what you plan to do after your course, how your course will help your career in india and so on and so forth.

Just remember to be calm and cool, answer to the point.

Make sure your CA statement shows an amount of at least double of the i20 amount to be safe.

    All the best! :-)
