  1. Henna is a natural way to dye the hair. It is permanent. Henna is a leaf/plant and can be prepared at home. The dye it gives off is red, but you can add other natural ingredients such as alma to dye it black, various shades of brown, and various shades of red. The color depends on the amount of the other natural ingredients you add. Henna also naturally strengthens the hair and makes it shinier. Some people use it for the other benefits without releasing the dye from the plant. BTW, you need something acidic, like lemon juice, to release the red dye. Read more about it and see if it's something you want to do. It's for all hair types and is completely natural. You shouldn't have to look hard to find a hair-related message board where people use henna on a regular basis.

  2. umm well i'm not sure if this will help but my friend uses a hair dye from the chemists (it can be found in beuty stores too) but it actually lightens your hair and dyes it at the same time..weird i know!! haha but shes got dark brown/almost black hair and she uses this hairdye and it lightened it to light/medium brown looks very natural too. you just apply it like a normal hair dye and it just kinda does its thing...really sorry that i cant remember which brand it is but if you have a look at a good store you will find it, its a pretty well known brand.

  3. go outside! i also heard that if you put lemon juice on your hair and then go sit in the sun for awhile that your hair will naturally lighten.
