I have never seen a Hurricane/tropical storm "back track" before. Is Gustav the first?

Jamaicans can thank their lucky stars that Gustav was only a storm.. I've never known one to back track and then travel across the entire length of landmass instead of being drawn towards open water.. very strange behaviour.

Not at all.  It did set a 4 landfall record for Florida, but there were previously historical tracks of storms with 3...

Very strange behaviour indeed. i have never seen one make THAT kind of sharp turn. Its as if the storm HEARD us saying that it wasn't headed our way... HEARD us mocking it and decided to show us who was the BOSS!
