i will try to keep this short..

Today i was with my 3 year old son and we were walking across the mall parking lot when these 3 young guys in a car intentionally speed up and came right at us. I had to jump with my small child out of the way. They stopped the car and yelled at me out the window, I have no idea what they said, they had scared the c**p out of me, but i did say stuff back. Then I just turned around and start walking away. Well they came around the corner and tried to do it again..speed right down at me and my son! they stopped and were laughing and saying things.. I was mad! I felt like they put my sons life in danger. So I yelled back...and when I did I used that word..the "N" word. A few bystanders who saw then trying to mow me down came over to see if i was ok, then the guys in the car left. After calming down I realized what I said, and now i feel kinda bad.

do you think that I might have racist feelings...or was it just out of fear and anger I used that language?

  1. No that doesn't make you a racist.. you would have said.. darn whatever.. if it had been someone of another race. It just happened that this persons were black African Americans.. so to have used the N word happened out of anger at the situation and at what they did not because you are racist.. you don'[t use the word normally and it's not a nice word but if someone gets on ones nerves then that can happen.. I am certainly no racist and I like all people from all different cultures and no matter what skin colour they have.. but when I cross the street and it's my right to go. and someone is about to mow me over i shout.. bloody  c o w.. and I am a woman. Does that mean I hate women and believe they are really worse drivers then man '' of course not but i was angry at this particular woman...  or if someone takes it for granted that I do something and can't say ''thanks' I don't say but I think... bloody conceited  a ss hole of a guy'' that doesn't mean I think that of all guys. but if someone is really arrogant and ignorant.. I think it.. that doesn't make me a manhater.. so you aren't a racist. .. it just happened that these guys were black ...

  2. Don't beat yourself up about this.  It was in the heat of the moment.  Just drop the whole thing.  Saying the much despised n-word just one time definitely does not mean that you are a racist.

  3. The word is in the American subconscious, everywhere.  Try not to use it when you are in trouble in public because you never know who might be in a position to come to your rescue (or what color they might happen to be).

  4. no way but make sure they were black

but its w/e they did dome really messed up things and it was

not like you were doing it to be racist or for fun they just happend to

be black and pissed you off and by the way i say the word all the time

and so dose my friend and we are not black

so it is ok just dont say it for fun or in a mean way

  5. everyone is a little prejudicial in the back of their minds, but i think in this case you don't see black people as the "n" word you just searched for the word most offensive to them. it's like finding the worst possible insult you can think of when you're pissed at someone. don't read too much into it, i'm sure you can't be a racist if you're so worried about it!

  6. I don't think that makes you a racist, but only you know if you have racist feelings.  People can be racist but chose to not use such a horrible nasty word.  People can also use that nasty word but claim they are not racist.

What it sounds like is that you were scared and worried for your safety and your son's safety and you just didn't think before you spoke.  It sounds like you were just so upset, and you had every right to be, and you just blurted out the first thought.  It happens to the best of us.  You should be careful though, saying something like that could have made the situation worse.

  7. My opinion is: The biggest proof that you are not a racist is you asking that question. I think that you are not a racist, you were just worried about your son and his safety and of course, any mother would want to be as much protective as possible. So you just don't worry about it.

  8. nope...

  9. If they where trying to run you down, you should really go to the police, no slanderous comment could ever compare the the value of a human life

  10. Nope. Not one bit. Besides Jesse Jackson used that word when refering to Obama...so it's ok to say it now =)

  11. i wouldn'tt say racist as long as you understand that it does offend some people i think ushouldn'tt worry about it to much
