have never wanted anything in the world more than a puppy, but my dad says I am not responsible enough. How can I prove that I am responsible? I do all my chores and try not to argue, but he still says I am not responsible enough. I have a 6 month old cat and a 7 year old dog, but I want an aussie or sheltie pup more than anything! Please help!

And its not the money. I have my own business walking dogs, petsitting and brushing animals

Please be polite

Luv,

Moon Wolf

  1. You have a dog and a cat now..   many kids dont even have that much.  Enjoy the pets you DO have.

If your dad doesnt think you're responsible enough, he may have a reason for saying that.  Or perhaps he just doesnt think you have the time for another responsability.. puppies are ALOT of work, and it may be hard to manage chores, caring for your other pets, and your pet sitting service on top of caring for a puppy that needs constant attention.

  2. do you do anything to help out with the current animals? Clean the litter box, pick up dog p**p. Take him for walks, feed both the cat and dog. Give the dog baths and groom him?

But than you do already have 2 animals do you really think you need more? Dad is right, if he doesn't want another puppy why keep hounding him.

  3. You have two pets. You do not need another animal and your father does not need another puppy to be responsible for while you are at school. Dad has said no end of discussion

  4. It sounds like you have enough on your hands already Moon Wolf!

Maybe your dad is trying to tell you that it simply wouldn't be a good idea to have another pet around the place, especially a bundle of energy like a puppy.

You don't say how old you are, but it sounds like you're a very busy person, I guess you're also still at school, maybe you would be taking on too much, however much you want a new puppy and feel you could manage.

Be patient, if you really want a puppy so badly you will wait until the time is right for everyone, including your dad, and then it would be something really worth having :)

    Take care :)
