I have no address bar in my browser/ only search how can I fix that.?

I downloaded Internet explorer version 6 as version 7 was interferring with one of the program I am using but there is no address bar where you can type in web address directly.Only search line. You have to type in search field and than if you are lucky you may find your desired site and click on it. I had version 6 of IE before I updated to 7 and there was no problem like that. I am not able to see url of what ever site I am on.

Try going to View --> Toolbars and make sure that the "Address bar" is checked.  This should make your address bar visible.
