I have no choice but to lie on college application??

I seriously have no choice because during the summer after my freshman year ended, i went to missions with my church and did volunteer work/community service. but i don't remember how many days I was there for and how many hours I volunteered for!!! help!!! I know it was definetely more than 30 hours total but i just can't remember. what do i do??? i also volunteered at a hospital for quite a long time and i don't remember how many hours i did as well. i didn't keep track. what do i do?? can i just lie??

  1. This isn't lying, it's estimating. Be a little conservative, but put in a number. I doubt if they'll question it. If they do, tell them what you told us. If there's  a place to write your answer, give them the story, and it's true, that you have no records, but that this is an estimate.  


  2. Try to remember as much as you can, and make your best guess.  Often times, numbers are rounded so it is easier to understand.  

  3. You can just say 'during the summer'. You could also guess and say approximately 30 hours, or you can check with the hospital and see if they have a record of when you were there.

  4. Don't worry as it is not that important just make a good guess.
