  1. Take him back, tell the pet store to pick one up that you can hold, so you know it won't bite when you get it home.

Once they start biting, it is a hard habit to break....

Also, wash your hands with soap and warm water before and after handling him, if you decide to.

He may smell an odor on your hand that scares him, could be the scent of a cat, dog, or just something he doesn't recognize, so he is scared.

  2. Why did you not do research Before get  your pet,

  3. give him awile to get used to the new home i would say about 4 days but if it still is going on after that take him back tot he pet shop and get a new one

  4. I have always had an easy time with my mice.  They were really friendly and very social.   However, I had one mouse who was really nasty and I couldn't tame him so I returned him to the pet store.  Get a gerbil.  They don't smell like mice do and they don't bite.  They are very friendly.

  5. Mice are harder to socialize then rats. Take time and try using treats. Talk to him in a soft voice and don't give up.

  6. Its natural mouse behavior! They love to play! They may bite really hard like its aggresive but its playful! Try getting him some treats to play with and toys! You could use a string to put in the cage for him to grab on to. Pull him and and play with him (dont mind any attention to the biting) Hope this helped!

  7. Since he is so bitey to start off with, don't put your hand in unless you dont mind him biting you all the time.

Just stay around his cage, make noises and talk to him so he can sense your presence. If you want to spend longer with him, but don't like to sit around constantly making noises, you can even get a book and read aloud to him (even though it does sound quite cheesy, it works!)

When he seems like he doesn't mind you anymore, start putting your hand in his cage. Don't expect him to not bite you, he still may but he might not be quite so scared. Keep doing this until he stops biting, if he bites just twitch your finger away from him. If he won't let go, take your hand out of the cage before he starts doing any damage.

Soon he will be more used to you, and feel more comfortable. If at any point, he walks onto your hand, pick him up and stroke him.

Good luck and have fun with your new mouse!
