Question:

I have no hot water?

we have been having major storms and the electricity has been going on and off..does that turn something off on the hot water heater?

  1. I'll assume you have an electric water heater.

    Even if the power went out for a while, the water should have warmed up once it came back on.   Check the circuit breaker to make sure it is on, or (if you have fuses), you'll need to test, or replace them.

    Also try pressing the reset buttons under the side covers first.

    If you have a means of testing that 240 volts of power is getting to the heating elements, and you find it is, you will need to replace the elements.

    It's not too tough of a job, you might want to have it done by an electrician though.


  2. if you have an electric water heat you most liely need to push the reset button  on the top thermostat on the water heat  , on the front of the water heatr it should have two little covers  take the s***w(s) out and push the little red button . turn the breaker off to the water heater while you are doing this, turn back on after pushing the reset. wlll take an hour or so for water to heat up for a shower

  3. Could be piliot light?  I would read owners manual.
