I have no idea how to fix my camera's battery problem! help!!?

Question

so i got a Fujifilm Finepix camera from a friend, she didnt have the charger for it, so i got to use it until the battery died. well i rly like the camera so i wanted to buy a charger for it so i could use it. Yesterday i went to Best Buy to get one, well they didnt sell the actual charger for it but they had a travel charger, so i thought i would give it a try. The guy helping me gave a used one sayin absolutely nothing was wrong with it and it was cheaper. long story short, it doesnt work. do i take it back, demand a refund or replacement, or try a new battery pack, maybe the one in it is shot??? i just want my camera to work before i go on vacation (1 week). WHAT DO I DO???

i can't believe you're asking this.  have you never had anything not work before?  here are your options:

1a.  take it back and if they have others in stock then exchange it and try it out.  they should be able to let you try it in the store.  if they do have another one and it doesn't work go to 1b.  if that was the only go to 2.

2a.  get your money back.  why would you question whether or not to get  a refund for a possibly defective product?  even if the product works and it's your camera/battery you can still get the refund, but you may want to keep it and buy a replacement battery for it.  

1b.  chances are it's your camera and you need a new battery.  keep the charger though because you will need to recharge that battery as well.  

3.  go to partstore.com.  they have replacement parts for just about EVERYTHING!!!  i had to order a new usb for my cyber-shot from there.  but u might be able to find it cheaper at ebay or amazon.  the most for sure, and most expensive, place to look is fuji's website.
