  1. Ok so you go to the market and buy more parakeet food.

  2. According to petco caresheets (which I trust more than all other websites), they may feed on beens and leafy vegetables. It reads:

Fresh vegetables and fruits such as green leafy vegetables, carrots, beans, bell peppers,

corn, bananas, grapes and citrus fruit.

Clean, fresh, filtered and chlorine-free water changed daily

Do not feed birds avocados, fruit seeds, chocolate, alcohol or caffeine as these can cause

    serious medical problems

Here it the link. Just look in the diet section.

  3. Just to let you know parakeets are prone to fatty tumors. A regular seed diet is not good for them. Especially the store bought food. The people don't check it and leave it on shelves for like months when no one buys it. Try buying some human whole grains such as hulled millet, oat groats, spelt etc. and making it  to his regular diet to prevent him from fatty tumors. Or you can do what I do. I buy Avi-Cakes for parakeets, lovebirds, and other small birds and just feed them that with some millet and fresh fruits and veggies.

Well, parakeets can basically eat any food that humans eat except avacado. It makes them sick and can kill them. If you're parakeets never eaten greens or any other food besides seed it will be sort of hard to introduce him to other foods. You will have to do it by putting it on a clip or something and attach it to the cage. Try starting off with some tropical fruits. They also enjoy their fresh foods wet, so be sure to rinse first and put greens into the cage while they are still dripping wet. They tend to love that the best. Here's a list of foods parakeets can eat:

    carrot tops,

    sprouts,

    strawberries,

    kale,

    apples,

    brocolli,

    and most dark, leafy greens

    melon, corn-on-the-cob

    cooked rice

    beans

small portions of well cooked meat

    DO NOT FEED YOUR BUDGIE:

This includes chocolate, coffee, soda, caffinated beverages, avocado, rhubarb, and the area of pitted fruits which touched the pit. Many fruit seeds are toxic to birds, so to be safe always remove any seeds from fruits you give to your budgies. You should also avoid giving your budgie anything but limited amounts of milk based products, as birds are lactose intolerant. Also, do not feed your budgie anything but very limited amounts of anything considered to be junk food (ie chips, fried foods, sweets, white bread, etc).

P.S. You should check out the link for budgie information I posted below. It will help you alot.

The quality of the bird seed counts

  5. get food bowl hoders he shouldnt be able to tip it over and i dont give it avacado or choclate and i cant think of anything else it cant have im  going by wat i know about my bird which is a cockatiel but i think it is pretty much the same and plz get food soon as possible it is unhealthy for the bird to suddenly stop getting regular foor even if he does tip it they can get sick without it hope this helps

  6. Buy.

    Some.

    Parakeet.

    Food.

  7. Your bird can eat fruits and veggies for a short amount of time and be o.k. this is not a long term fix.

You need to get bowl from the pet store that connect to the cage in a fashion that he can't "tip" it over.

Please do not feed a bird a seed diet.  I made that mistake and it all most cost my bird her life.  Check with an avain vet about how to properly switch over to a pellett diet.
