I have no picture when i try to play videos from my digital camera in windows media player?

my camera is a hp photosmart m525 and when i play the videos in quick player it will work but when i play it in windows all i get is sound. i would like to know if there is any way to convert the video so that it will play in windows. or if there is a program like windows movie maker i can get that i can play and edit my videos? Thanks

try to play again, to the right of the screen there will be a red x click on it and go to web help.you may be missing a codec
