  1. yes, australia is a safe place to visit whether you are alone or with friends. australia has many tourists each year and many people who visit australia alone and meet with other backpackers along the journey

  2. Seriously you won't be mugged by kangaroos or anything drastic like that.

Australia has a reputation for being a friendly country - its also lovely and clean (mostly) with wide wide open spaces. You will be amazed at the distances between cities, the people and the animals and plants. They will be different to any you have ever seen.

Don't forget to visit Queensland and see our unique Great Barrier Reef and sample our lovely tropical fruits fruit and delicious seafood.

In Queensland many people joke about there being a direct phone line to heaven - cos it is so nice here

Bring your friends and enjoy yourself

here is a good website and a good place to start your search to see where you would like to visit:

    http://www.queenslandholidays.com.au/

If you also search on your fave search engine and type in these other states you can bring up other sites to check out holiday ideas and allow plenty of time for sightseeing as Australia is a very large place

Search for New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, West Australia, Northern Territory and Australian Capital Territory (national capital Canberra is there)

If you are on a limited budget, you can backpack and save a bundle - join the backpacking association to get your discounts

    Happy holidays

  3. Yes we are a safe country. Of course like anywhere in the world you would not put yourself in a vulnerable situation. It is safe to travel by yourself we are a friendly helpful country and love  tourists coming over.

  4. Oh yes you will be fine.  Use the same ideas you have at home, if someone looks friendly and smiles at you, they probably are.  Stay out of dark allys at night etc, normal stuff.  People are friendly and helpful here.

  5. Australia is a very safe country. We have many thousands of lone tourists every year and you'll find that Australians everywhere are very welcoming and helpful. Just use commonsense and you'll be fine. Don't hitchhike anywhere though - that's definitely not safe.

  6. I went for an entire month on my own and had a great time!  I'm female and young and I was smart about what I did - I never had any problems.  Everyone's amazing helpful - they loved my southern accent apparently - and its pretty easy to find your way around.  I went from tip to tip of that country and tried to squeeze as much of the in between in as I could.  I used just about every mode of transportation at some point or another and had no problems with any of them and there wasn't a single city I didn't feel comfortable wandering around.  Its a great place to visit!  Contiki also does tours over there, I ran into a couple of those.  anyway - go - you'll have a blast!  No worries ;)

  7. Australia is probably one of the safest countries in the world today. Before coming here why not try to make contact with a few Australians via the internet. Get yourself a few internet pals and then when you do come here you will have somebody to meet and show you around. Prior to my first visit to Vietnam a few years ago, I made contact with a few people there who had similar interests. They were most helpful and made my visit more enjoyable.

  8. stay in the dorn rooms in backpackers, you'll soon make friends...
